Are you looking for a Kitchener hotel to use as a base of operations for your time exploring the Waterloo Region? Look no further than the Crowne Plaza Kitchener-Waterloo. It is located in the heart of Kitchener’s downtown. It is within walking distance of great restaurants and the cities of Waterloo and Cambridge are all within easy driving range (max 20 mins). Plus, you have the four Townships of Wilmot, Wellesley, North Dumfries and Woolwich accessible in under 30 minutes. You couldn’t ask for a better Kitchener Hotel to call home while you explore the area. They even have free WiFi so you can stay connected with friends, family, and your favourite TV shows as you settle into a relaxing nights sleep.
PRO TIP: The Crowne Plaza is part of the IHG rewards program and I highly recommend you sign up before you book your stay as you are guaranteed the best rate when you book through them directly and you’ll collect points and stays that will allow you to redeem for free stays at a later date.
Check-in is a breeze. Another perk of booking my stay directly as all my preferences are on file. Straight up to my I head. On the way, I pass the newly renovated lobby lounge and restaurant. This is not your standard Crowne Plaza design, and I like it. Modern, bright and with plenty of space. When I check in there is no one about as it is 2:30 pm, however, in a few short hours the bar fills up as patrons enjoy Happy Hour and the games played on the two big screens above the bar.
My room is spectacular. I have lucked out and received a corner suite which offers plenty of room to stretch out. Even though there are no interior walls the “bedroom” feels separate from the lounging area. I took a video tour of my room so you can appreciate the layout and amenities. Check it out.
A feature I love and expect everywhere I stay but don’t always get is the easy access to electrical outlets and USB plugs needed for charging my devices. No bending under the table to plug in the charge so I can charge up my laptop and phone, and Apple Watch as the case may be.
Another feature that you may love and use but one I didn’t get a chance to enjoy is the fitness area and pool. A perfect place to relax and unwind after a day spent on the Waterloo-Wellington Craft Ale Trail or canoeing on the Grand River.
I think you can understand why I am in favour of calling the Crowne Plaza Kitchener-Waterloo my Kitchener hotel home base when I am in town. Anyone want to meet me in the lounge for a cocktail?
