Paradise. That is the last stop on my seven cities, three-week tour of Florida. Paradise Coast to more exact. The cities of Naples, Marco Island and the Everglades are my final destination in this epic sunshine state road trip. From start to finish I will have driven over 1400 miles, but I may have left the best for last. The best sunsets, the best beaches and the best hotel room of my entire trip. There are plenty of Naples hotel choices available and you may default to one with a beach view but I’ve learned a trick or two over the years of solo travelling and that is to choose a corporate hotel for my home away from home. The Hilton Naples is a perfect example. A luxurious Naples hotel that caters to a demanding corporate crowd during the week while on weekends it is filled with more adults than families aka kids. Plus it is only a mile from the beach.
Why do I love corporate hotels so much when I travel? It’s easy, as a solo traveller and a guy closer to 50 than 40 I love quiet, kid free hotels that offer perks and amenities geared towards a more mature crowd. Nothing wrong with family friendly hotels, but kids running up and down hallways doesn’t scream vacation to me. Also, they tend to be booked solid Monday through Thursday with business travellers leaving them open on weekends when the family friendly hotels tend to book out.
Pulling into the Hilton Naples the first perk is Valet parking. It’s included in your stay so why not. I grabbed my bags, headed to registration and proceeded with check in. As a Hilton Honors member, they already have my room preferences on file so up I go to my room. Lucky me I’ve been upgraded to a suite and given access to the Executive Lounge. Another perk of a corporate hotel.
First, let’s check out my suite. It is MASSIVE! A three-room suite with a separate living/dining room, a bedroom and of course a large washroom. This feels more like an executive apartment than a hotel room. I have a separate workstation for my writing and when it is time to go to bed I can watch a little TV in bed.
So that is my room, now what about this Executive Lounge? Open morning till night this amenity suite is only open to guests on the Executive Level. Hours are:
- Mon-Fri 6:30AM – 10AM and 5PM – 9PM
- Sat-Sun 7:30AM – 10:30AM and 5PM – 8PM
Some of the perks include an espresso machine for on-demand speciality coffee beverages, self-serve breakfast in the morning and a daily happy hour with an honour bar and hors d’oeuvres available for snacking on. I got my money’s worth from this perk that is for sure. A three speciality coffee a day habit can be expensive after all.
Another great perk at the Naples hotel is the gym and outdoor pool. Business travellers love a good hotel gym and that is actually what’s on offer. Plus the pool was nearly deserted the entire time I was here.
The Hilton Naples also offers a free shuttle service that will take you to the beach and they even offer beach chairs and complimentary bike rentals for those that would rather cycle around town. All in all, it’s a great property and one I loved staying at.
One night I dined in after a full day of exploring and pigged out on a burger and fries. Fantastic!
So the next time you are looking for a Naples hotel perhaps consider the Hilton Naples. All the comfort you can desire with fewer crowds than you’d expect.
