I love visiting Salt Spring Island. It has been named by the New York Times, “52 Places to Go in 2016,” and “Canada’s Coolest Island” by the Washington Post. If that isn’t even to get you over here for a weekend escape or a weeklong retreat how about the fact that the 10,000 people who call Salt Spring Island home all seem to be talented artists and craftsmen. This weekend you will get a chance to visit Salt Spring in the City. A pop-up shop that brings Salt Spring Island to Vancouver for three days. You can see for yourself why it is one of the World’s Best Islands.
- Friday, March 4: 4pm to 9pm
- Saturday, March 5: 10am to 6pm
- Sunday, March 6: 11am to 4pm
For a full list of vendors check out the website. There is everything from pottery to handcrafted soaps, jewellery to fashion and of course, two of my favourites. Salt Spring Island Cheese and Salt Spring Wild Cider.
Three days to experience a little bit of the magic that is Salt Spring Island, right in the heart of Vancouver. Once you’ve checked out Salt Spring In The City for yourself I bet you will be booking your own flight on Salt Spring Air for a Spring getaway.
I’m on Salt Spring Island as we speak doing a bit of research, but I will be back in time to check out the Pop Up Shop for myself. Make sure to check out the Salt Spring Tourism booth as they may have some killer specials and ideas for your Island getaway.
Check back tomorrow where I’ll give you a tour of the woodland cottage guest house I’m calling home for a few days. Here’s a sneak peak.
